If using SimpleDateFormat to parse a string into a Date object, it may fail if the Locale sets in SimpleDateFormat differ from the string format.
java.text.ParseException: Unparseable date: "02NOV2004" at java.text.DateFormat.parse(DateFormat.java:335)
The above example shows an exception parsing the string “02NOV2004” with the pattern ddMMMyyyy.
This should work, but if the Locale is FR (french) then the short name for November is “nov.” (Ending with a dot) and not “nov” making the process to fail.
